Bravo, They Yelled!
03 July 2007
The concert on Saturday night was at a 13th C. church and the people there only have international choirs once a year and they hadn't had one for 2 years. They almost never stopped clapping and yelling bravo. They simply loved us. It was almost embarrassing. It was an incredible privilege to sing there. We loved it. We sang everything in our repertoire because they didn't want to let us go. We even sang Kiss the Girl.
I never really realised what a privilege it is for an outside choir to sing at St Mark's Basilica and we get to do it tonight! People have to pay to get into the church and the lines are miles long. In fact, at all the attractions we visit there are flocks of crowds. In Florence it would have been a 4 hour wait to see Michelangelo’s David. Some in the group were willing, but I had to get off my feet because after all, I am David, right?
I think we are getting some good footage that will be available soon. You would be proud of our choir. They are presenting well and I think we will give our competitor's a run for their money in Vienna.
Better be off.
More later,
David
